BMW was and is a pioneer in developing so-called Runflat tires. As the name suggests, this special tire type partially retains functionality even with a loss of pressure. In the event of a puncture you can safely drive to the next workshop and avoid a tire change on site.
Even tires with emergency running properties have limits. With a puncture you should drive at a maximum of 90 km/h. How far you can go depends on the model; typically the emergency capability covers 10 to 80 km.
