Continue using existing rims, tyres and wheels and tyres at Original Räder 24
Continue using existing products and conserve resources
When you buy at Original Räder 24, you consciously choose products that already exist and therefore do not require additional new production of these rims or tyres. Many rims and tyres we offer are technically checked and usable, but may show small visual defects or already be used. By choosing such products, the lifespan of existing goods can be extended and the need for newly produced products reduced. Additionally, we pay attention in our operations to economical use of resources, use shipping packaging as efficiently as possible and offer you a voluntary tree planting campaign as an additional contribution.
This conscious handling of already produced goods can be a sensible building block to keep existing resources longer in the market – be it for classic vehicles or the growing market of electromobility. Thus a cycle can emerge that makes products usable longer and at the same time allows you high-quality rims, tyres and wheels and tyres at attractive prices.
Why buying existing wheels at OR24.de can save resources
As a retailer, we do not produce our own rims or tyres. Instead, we sell through our online shop already existing OEM alloy wheels, tyres and wheels and tyres. By creating a secondary market for these products, existing resources can continue to be used instead of deploying a newly produced product for every demand.
Many of our offers include products that are no longer regularly used by major manufacturers or in the trade due to minimal visual defects such as storage marks or small paint defects. Technically, these rims can remain usable after appropriate inspection. Instead of unnecessarily removing such products from the market, we visually refurbish them as needed and make them ready for use again.
In addition to new products, we also offer used rims and wheels and tyres. Many of them receive careful refurbishment at our facility and thus an extended lifespan. Even if rims have picked up minor marks during use such as kerb scratches or stone chips, they are not automatically discarded at our facility, provided the technical inspection shows no safety-relevant limitations. These products are inspected according to condition, refurbished and then offered again.
With tyres we proceed similarly. As long as tread depth, tyre age and condition meet the requirements, we see no reason to prematurely sort out usable tyres. Our goal is to keep the existing substance and energy already contained in a tyre in the market for as long as responsible – of course while observing the relevant safety aspects.
Mobility will remain an important factor in the future. Rims, tyres and wheels and tyres will continue to be needed, also in the growing electric vehicle market. Our goal is to make already produced products usable in a meaningful way for as long as possible – regardless of whether for combustion engines or electric vehicles.
Our shipping partners and their published environmental measures
Our orders go to you with GLS, UPS, Raben Group or DSV – depending on parcel size, complete set and destination area. The shipping partners publish their own information on environmental and efficiency measures. The following information refers to the publicly communicated programmes and goals of the respective shipping partners.
GLS, UPS and Raben – published measures of our shipping partners
GLS informs on its own website about the GLS KlimaProtect programme. There, GLS describes among other things measures for the recording, reduction and compensation of transport-related CO₂ emissions as well as the expansion of alternative delivery solutions.
UPS informs on its own website about investments in alternative drives, route optimisation and more sustainable packaging. UPS also informs about UPS carbon neutral. According to UPS, this is an optional offering to compensate shipping-related emissions.
Raben Group describes with its Eco2Way strategy various measures to reduce emissions. According to Raben Group, these include alternative drives, biofuels, green electricity at operational sites and new logistics sites with lower-emission concepts.
DSV – voluntary contribution to DSV environmental measures
With DSV we contribute a voluntary surcharge for sustainability measures from DSV for pallet shipping, which is charged in addition to the regular freight costs. According to DSV, this contribution is collected centrally and bundled group-wide to use it for larger environmental and efficiency measures in the transport and logistics sector.
According to DSV, corresponding contributions flow among other things into the following areas:
- the expansion of alternatively powered truck fleets, including e-trucks and hydrogen trucks
- measures for lower-emission urban distribution in Europe
- measures for energy efficiency and renewable energies, including green electricity, solar installations, LED lighting and e-charging stations at DSV sites
- local projects in short-distance transport, including with electrically powered trucks in various regions
According to DSV, the company pursues long-term climate goals, including reducing CO₂ emissions and decarbonising logistics. DSV presents the concrete goals and current status on its own sustainability page.
More about the sustainability strategy you can find directly at DSV.
Note: The information on GLS, UPS, Raben Group and DSV is based on the publicly accessible information of the respective companies. We check this information regularly and adjust the content accordingly in case of changes.
Our concrete measures at a glance
A responsible use of resources begins for us with the longer use of already existing products. Therefore, alongside our range, we also pay attention to energy efficiency and resource protection in our operations. We focus on economical use of electricity and water and use shipping packaging as efficiently as possible.
In addition, we offer you the opportunity to make an additional contribution yourself: For 3.50 € you can have a tree planted with your purchase at Original Räder 24 and will receive a tree certificate for it. This way you can voluntarily supplement your purchase with a concrete tree planting campaign.
Our key points:
- We do not produce rims or tyres ourselves, but sell already existing products.
- We give used rims and tyres an extended lifespan through inspection and refurbishment.
- We use shipping packaging as efficiently and resource-consciously as possible.
- You can additionally book a tree planting campaign with us, which we have implemented through an appropriate partner.
"Plant a tree today, see a forest tomorrow" – an additional contribution can be that simple. This way the contribution remains comprehensible and concretely documented.
