Technically, the B9 generation of the A4 allroad (Type 8W) is an A4 Avant with raised suspension. According to Audi, its ride height is 23 mm above that of the regular Avant, and the quattro all-wheel drive system comes as standard. Production ran from 2016 to 2024, with a facelift in 2019; the car was built on the MLB evo platform. Diesel and petrol versions were offered. After the facelift they were sold as 40 TDI, 45 TDI, 50 TDI and 45 TFSI. Output starts at 136 hp (100 kW) and reaches 286 hp (210 kW); engine capacity ranges from 1968 to 2967 cc. Width is 1842 to 1847 mm, height 1494 mm, and the car weighs 1655 to 1885 kg unladen.
