Original Räder Sponsors Stralsund Student Team€1,000 for "Formula 1 in Schools"

Original Räder sponsors Stralsund student team Formula 1 in Schools

As a successful regional company in Vorpommern, supporting young talent is especially close to our hearts. At Original Räder, we don't just support local sports clubs – we also back innovative educational projects like "Formula 1 in Schools". Team Taco from Stralsund impressed us from the start – not just with their technical skills, but above all with their team spirit and passion for the project. With a donation of €1,000, we want to help these young people achieve their goals.

"We are truly excited to be part of this project. It's not just about technology and speed – it's about inspiring young people and showing them what they can achieve with hard work and an open mind," says CEO Christoph Wanitschke. "We hope the dreams of these young people come true. It's about heart, dedication and teamwork – values that define Original Räder as a company."

This sponsorship also shows our commitment to giving back to our region. It's great to see young people with different strengths and backgrounds working together as a team, creating something impressive. Projects like this deserve support – because participants don't just gain technical knowledge, they also develop essential soft skills for their future.

Team Taco: From Elective Course to German Championship

Team Taco's story began last school year when Charlie and Katharina joined the "Formula 1 in Schools" elective. This year, Merit and Martha joined them, and Tom and Sebastian came aboard for the German Championship. Together, they not only won the regional championship in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, but also achieved an impressive 9th place at the German Championship in Bremen. At the Nordmetallcup 2022, they secured fourth place and received the special award "Best Girls' Team" – an achievement they can be rightfully proud of.

What is "Formula 1 in Schools"?

"Formula 1 in Schools" is an international technology competition open to students aged 11 to 19. Teams independently design, construct and build a miniature Formula 1 car – from digital design on a computer, through CNC milling or 3D printing, to the final racing car. The miniature car is powered by a CO2 cartridge, and the goal is clear: complete the track in the fastest time possible.

Through this project, participants gain deep insights into product development and modern manufacturing processes, while also building valuable experience in project management, teamwork and presentation. They learn how to turn ideas into reality, handle setbacks and find solutions together. In the end, they take home not just a self-built mini Formula 1 car, but also unforgettable memories and skills that will serve them well in the future.

We are proud to accompany Team Taco on this exciting journey and look forward to their future success!
