Further details about BMW and BMW M rims
Among the premium brands in the automotive industry, BMW presents itself with an unmistakable DNA. It's reflected in the OEM BMW rims. The bolt circle used to be 5x120, it's now 5x112. The 5 stands for the number of bolts in the bolt circle, the number after the x indicates the bolt circle diameter in millimetres.
A special feature is the designation IS (Insertion) instead of ET for the offset. This means: If you find the marking ET on a BMW rim, it's highly likely to be a counterfeit. This and further information is stamped on the inside of the rim, more precisely on the spoke, on the rim flange or in the rim well.
OEM BMW and BMW M rims have a number that refers to the design – the so-called Styling. This is a three or four-digit code of digits or digits and letters. Examples are Styling 684 for the 5 Series BMW, Styling 825 M for BMW M and Styling 793i for Individual rims.
